Qualifications

I have had an interest in teaching for many years. While in college, I taught three laboratories weekly for about 3 years and always had high accolades from my students. While in high school, I tutored another student in algebra for one year. Math was my strong suit in school.

Comments

I am available for lessons any evening from 5pm to 10pm and on weekends. My fees include driving distances of up to 15 miles one-way (30 miles round-trip) from my home. I can meet at either the parent's home or at a local public library. I prefer not to meet at a location such as a coffee house or restaurant since there is too much distraction in locations like those. Any additional driving over 15 miles will be charged at $0.38 per mile.

Personal Statement

Believe it or not, math can be fun if the student is shown how to relate it to everyday life. Too much of today's curriculum is so abstract with no practical connection to how things work in real life or why the student needs to know what he is learning.
