Following the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum Guidelines, using current textbooks, and coordinating with students' classroom teachers, our tutors provide useful explanations in clear, simple language with many practical examples. Specialists in all subjects such as Mathematics, Science, French Immersion, English, E.S.L., and Special Education are available, as are instructors for private school and university entrance exams, such as the SSAT, SAT, GED, or GMAT.

At Explanations Unlimited, our mission is to provide professional, affordable academic support to our clients in their pursuit of improved educational knowledge, skills, and abilities. Creating individually tailored programmes, we aspire to provide a motivating, stress-free, and effective learning environment that will not only make learning exciting, but will instil a sense of confidence within each learner. In our private tutoring sessions, we work closely with our students, coordinate with their parents and schools, and go beyond tutoring the basics of a course. We suggest additional strategies to aid them in becoming not just better in their specific subject area, but active independent learners, with the aim in preventing future educational difficulties.

How Explanations Unlimited Got It's Name:

Students learn differently, that is common knowledge. But just because students may all need to learn the same topic, it doesn't mean that one common explanation is good enough to enable everyone to fully understand a concept. At Explanations Unlimited, we are happy to explain a topic an unlimited number of times, and in an unlimited number of ways to ensure our students truly understand the lesson, and are not just memorizing without comprehending. We believe in simplifying complicated concepts and abstract theories, rather than just repeating difficult textbook explanations.

To enhance the learning experience, we will also customize our teaching style to match the known learning style of each student: We speed up when things are easy, slow down when things are challenging, use lots of diagrams and flow charts if the student is a visual learner, and focus on verbal explanations if a student is an auditory learner. We will help students’ strengthen their problem solving skills, and can include practice tests and exam simulations to ensure our students are ready for their real school tests and exams. We want our students to achieve their academic goals, and become independent, confident, and competent learners.
