I began volunteering as a reading tutor with my son’s first grade class. My son struggled with reading so I wanted to learn how to help. I was trained to teach a guided reading class and fell in love with it. For the past 12 years, I have worked beside and been mentored by the literacy specialist as well as other teachers.
