After completing my military service (USAF) IN 1971, I successfully completed my Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University. Upon graduation in 1979, I accepted a position as an instructor in political science at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where I taught courses in American Government, Comparative Politics, and International Relations from 1979-1984.
